Looking for a free file upload service?

If you go to Google and search for file uploading services, I’m sure you will be bombarded with a multitude of useless links. If, however, you do not wish to trawl through hundreds of links to find a decent host, then give a couple of these links a shot.

SendSpace.com:
My personal favourite. Nice and simple interface, does not require registration. Maximum file size permitted to upload is 300MB. You may downloaded up to 1G of files per day.

MegaUpload.com:
Also features a nice and clean interface. Registration is not required but free and paid are available. Anonymous uploads, i.e. from non-registered users, will be stored on the server for 21 days after the latest download. Maximum file upload size of 500MB.

PutStuff.com:
Simple design without any confusing links or other tidbits. Maximum file size for upload is 100MB, and files will be deleted from their server 30 days after the last download.

UpFile.com:
The site looks a little cluttered, but isn’t hard to use. Claims upload size to be unlimited, however ‘recommends’ files of no higher than 2G so as to be sure of the service’s stability. Downloads for premium users start instantly, however free users’ downloads do not. I’m not entirely sure what this means, so if anybody would like to test it then be sure to let me know how it goes.

    Yousendit.com is another good site for sending large files. I’ve used it a few times.

    Yes, I’ve used YouSendIt before, but I see now it requires an email address to send the file to? I’m sure that in the past it was possible to upload something without the option of directly sending it… Hmm.

    Another vote for Putstuff.com here, like you say its very easy to use and no confusing downloads like some of the other sites. :)
