My answer to this, is yes. If you’re anything like me then you’ve no doubtedly seen presumably, well, all three of them getting completely trashed and flashing their bits for the cameras lately.
There are all these speculations about drug problems, alcohol addiction, attention-seeking… Uh, like we didn’t already know that’s what they were like, thank you.
Oh, and as for Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton? I really don’t care that the purchased McDonald’s for lunch the other day. So do twenty million other people, but do they get special reports on it? No. Because no one cares.

It is not cool at all.
I mean, you’re walking along just minding your own business and then BAM! All of a sudden your foot is semi-attached to the ground and you stand there for a second stunned, and then start to do some almost dance-like moves in an effort to get your shoe un-stuck (or if you’re lucky enough, your bare foot).
I mean, you can always try scraping your shoe on the edge of bricks or concrete, or even find a stick and try to pick it off, but you can only do so much. From then on, whenever you walk on grass (or dirt or sand) it will stick to it. Not cool.
PUT YOUR GOD-DAMN GUM IN THE BIN, THANKS.

So I haven’t been using WordPress for any longer than, say, two weeks. At the absolute most. Well just today I discover this ‘Akismet’ thing that blocks what it believes are spam comments. Okay, great. It would be helpful if there was some notification to TELL me there were spam comments in there.
After just checking the Akismet page, it told me it’s blocked 6 spam comments to date. Only one of them was displayed however, and was indeed not spam at all. So after I checked ‘Not Spam’, I tried looking for the remaining five. What? No where? Uh… okay, so it must have deleted them, I guess — even though it states these ’spam’ comments are deleted after FIFTEEN days.
Honestly, I would not at all be surprised if none of them were actual spam. Thank you technology, for you are my saviour. /End sarcasm.

So, this is Australia some time this morning I believe. We’ve got some nice oranges and blues going on, and even some splashes of aqua here and there. It really means nothing to me, except that there are some clouds floating around and it looks as though we live on a desert island. Oh, AND IT’S REALLY FUCKING HOT TODAY. It’s not Summer for another three days.
FOREIGNERS: This is not the case! Really, we aren’t a great big desert, and yes, we are all civilised (for the most part, at least). We even have cities too! Fancy that.
Okay, I’m going to lay it down; I’m going to hopefully break some of those all too common misconceptions about the land down under:
- We do not all kangaroos, crocodiles or koalas in our backyards. Unless of course you live on a farm somewhere, in which case you may have kangaroos every now and then.
- Most people in Australia have never seen a crocodile. Or a kangaroo or koala, for that matter.
- Koalas are called just that: Koalas. They are not called Koala Bears, as is commonly thought, because they simply are not bears. Also it is generally thought that these mammals are cute and cuddly. No! You are wrong! Zoos aside, koalas are nasty pieces of work and they growl. Yes, growl. And their nails are pretty lethal.
- Not everyone sits at the pub all day in stubbies and Akubras. That’s onlyin country towns. Hah.
- Not everyone says ‘bloody’ or ‘bugger’. And you know what? G’day is even rarer.
- Australia isn’t technically ‘down under’, even though it’s a common phrase, even over here. Check out these upside-down maps.

So it’s 10:39am and I’m sitting here at the computer, still in my pyjamas, still lacking much-needed makeup. My eye still hurts like a motherfucker for some reason, but I guess I’ll live. I still don’t have my reading glasses back from the optometrist yet, as they’re getting new lenses put in. Woo yeah. Let’s hope my day settles down now, eh? I can’t deal with all of this excitement.
Oh shit son, I even get to vacuum my room now because of the vast amount of hair I’ve been shedding from blow-drying and straightening. Mmm, delightful.
Hitting up the small Bowls’ Club for lunch today too… with the whole 3 other people that are likely to be there as well.
Oh, wait, hold up — Mum’s vacuuming my room for me. Fuck I’m lazy.

I came across this link in a post on a message board earlier.
“A Virginia judge has dismissed charges today against a young woman who shot herself in order to kill her unborn child in a case that has angered anti-abortion activists.
…
She said her boyfriend wouldn’t pay for an abortion, so she carried her pregnancy to term.
Then she did the unthinkable.
Prosecutors say that on the morning she was scheduled to give birth, Skinner drove to an auto dealer’s parking lot, took a gun, and shot herself in the belly, killing the fetus in an act of self-abortion. Skinner was charged with carrying out an illegal abortion.”
The question this article is posing is, is she a criminal for doing this? While going on technicalities, I guess you could say that yes, she is, however what concerns me more is the fact that she felt had to go to such extremes in order to not have the baby.
“The question we shouldn’t be asking is, ‘What crime did she commit?’ But, ‘Why didn’t she have access to abortion services? Why didn’t she have access to mental health services?’” Paltrow said.
I completely agree with the above statement. The laws may be slightly different in Australia — perhaps more lenient — however abortions, or terminations if you will, should be made more accessible to that need or wish to have them. It’s up to no one but the mother to make this choice and her decision should be final, regardless of the reason for wanting the procedure.

I hate it when I’m so tired that I don’t even want to go to sleep, but I do. But really I don’t. But I kind of do, just not really.
Yeah. I’m way tired. This doesn’t even make sense.

Don’t deny it, you know what I’m talking about here. You might always be late for things or you never want to miss a bus again so you think, “Hey, why don’t I just set my clocks/watches/phone/other devices ten minutes fast? That way, I’ll always be on time or, if not, I’ll be early!”
When I first learnt of people doing this, I was only young. Maybe nine or ten, tops. With such a young age came such a degree of naïvety (again, is this a word?). Of course at that age, I didn’t even know what naïve meant, but that’s also beside the point. I too thought that this was a fantastic way of making it on time to everything, however I knew very little on the subject. Yes, the subject of pseudo-fast-forwarding time.
But really, what is the point?
- You’re likely to forget changing all of the clocks in your house whilst you’re mid-way through.
- Even if you do finish, I’m sure someone else in the house has a watch or phone of their own, with a completely different time displayed.
- You’re aware that you changed it, therefore giving yourself extra allowances if you’re running “late” (which of course you aren’t, because you should know exactly how fast you set the clocks).
- There is a small possibility that you will develop some form of mental condition that relates to clocks, time and anything of the sort, because your clock says one thing but you know it must be lying to you.
Okay, so maybe I made up the last one. That’s okay, but I think my point should be getting across now. And if not then I have idea what universe you’re living in.

I’m not even 18 yet and I feel like I’ve grown up and out-grown so much recently. I both like it and I don’t. I don’t even know what I want at the moment, but I kind of wish time would slow down a little for me, if only for a moment. Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.
Things are moving so quick it’s not funny. After waiting for so long for it to happen, I’m finally finished school. I’m almost working full-time now, people are constantly drifting out of my life–we make plans like, “You. Me. This Saturday night. Let’s catch up and get wasted!” and things along those lines, but then what? Nothing ever comes of it. It’s been going on like this long before I left school though, so I don’t know why it’s hitting me like it is now.
Do I care? Do they care? If they don’t really care, do I care that they don’t really care? Do I even make sense to myself anymore?

For those of you that are unaware, today is (International) Buy Nothing Day.
“Buy Nothing Day is an informal day of protest against consumerism observed by social activists.”
- from this Wikipedia article.
Whilst this is all well and good, does it really achieve anything? As mentioned in the article, critics of this informal holiday have argued that those participating will simply go out and buy twice the amount of things the following day. Or, those people such as myself, will go out regardless of the holidays and willingly spend more than they should be in the first place.
It’s all in the name of fun, anyway, so while I’m not exactly criticizing the day, I don’t really see all that much point in it. I guess it could be a bit of fun if you wanted to participate though. Let me know what you are planning to do/have done today on this occasion.
