I seriously don’t have the energy/willpower to update this.
HAH, that didn’t last long. =/
I have a Livejournal though, and I think that will do me for me. It’s pretty much posted in every day, but it’s friends-onlyyyy. Yeah that’s real helpful, I’m sure.

So it appears to be Christmas morning. How can I tell? Oh, only the abundance of chocolate, lollies and chips suddenly popping up around the house; under the tree, on the kitchen bench, the coffee table… How joyous! Just what I need, too. (And if you can’t yet sense my sarcasm, please GTFO the internet.)
I still maintain that the best gift under the tree was the perfume I bought for myself yesterday. I had the lady behind the store counter ask if I would like it gift-wrapped, so of course I said yes. I mean, it was free and all. And then it looked pretty. Apart from that, I’ve got chocolate (wow!), a Pez dispenser (surprise!) and some more chocolate (whut, no wai?). Oh, and a handbag, but I got that a month ago.
Right now Mum’s fiancé, my brother and my cousin are blowing up a massive pool. Well, massive for a pool of the blow-up variety. It’s something like 3.66 metres in diameter. Awesome! We can sit in it all day and drink alcoholic beverages, despite today being the coolest Christmas in probably ten years. Okay, well I clearly just plucked a number from nowhere, but I don’t really remember celebrating a Christmas Day that was less that 35 degrees (celsius, mind you).
Well I’m going to shower and then put on my togs so I can sit in chlorine, completely defeating the purpose of having a shower in the first place. Never mind.
Merry Christmas to those that celebrate it, and have fun watching your mates get drunk if you don’t!

So my mother and her partner went away for the weekend. During this time my Nan has come to stay with us. At about 5pm last night, she drove my brother and my cousin to Subway to get some dinner, and about two minutes after she left we were struck with a massive hail storm. She was sitting in her car in the Subway carpark hoping the windscreen wasn’t going to smash in, and I was home by myself having a good ol’ panic whilst trying to close all the windows and salvage electrical appliances.
Water was literally gushing in under both the CLOSED front and garage door. Not that it really mattered with the garage, because on the side wall (the direction that the rain/hail was horizontally pelting in from) was made partially out of those stupid bricks with ‘pretty’ (aka pointless) hole-patterns in them. So everything was saturated. A leak sprung in our roof in the middle of the lounge room, so we had to place a nice bucket underneath. Towels have been strewn around the linoleum floors to prevent slipping on the masses of puddles formed.
The power went out and came back on a few times from about 5:00 to 5:15pm, and then it stayed out until 12:29am. At this point it flashed on long enough for me to plug in my phone (that had been beeping incessantly to tell me the battery was low), and then went out about two minutes later. I believe it came back on at around 2:19am for good, because I noticed all the lamps and the bathroom light turn themselves on again, but I couldn’t be bothered getting up to turn them off and no one else seemed to wake. I turned them off at 6:30 in the morning.
I really wish I got a picture of the street covered in hail stones, complete with the green-black sky. To be honest though, it flashed my mind, but then I continued to freak out being the the pitch-black house by myself and rushed around trying to find shitty little candles to give us some decent light. It didn’t helped that the phone lines were out and the mobile phone towers were overloaded and didn’t allow me any reception. Woohoo, I couldn’t call anyone!
Dinner proceeded to be fruit for me and baked bean sandwiches for everyone else. We all went to bed at 8:20pm, because there really was nothing left to do in the dark. I missioned reading for about 20 minutes and gave up because I felt as though the flickering candlelight on the pages were going to send me into seizures. I don’t believe I’ve slept for 12 hours for a very long time.
Let’s hope tonight is a little less eventful.

Over at Sh1ft.org, Tracey hosts what she calls ‘26 Things’, which is described as a photographic scavenger hunt. It helps those of us that wish to pick up our cameras more often but aren’t sure where to begin. The rules for this game have been defined as follows:
- 26 Things is a fun photographic game - no winners list, no prizes.
- On a given date, 26 items are posted on the website and participants set out to photograph each item in their own interpretation.
- Present your photos in any way you please, online. Please note that we don’t host your photos - you have to organise that yourself.
- Photographs from your digital camera, film camera or both is fine.
- New or old photographs are accepted.
- Basic photographic editing techniques (cropping etc.) are allowed. Your items are supposed to be photographs, not digital manipulations so don’t go nuts in Photoshop
- After that month is up, post your completed entry to our flickr group
- Your photographs remain your own
Unfortunately there has been no December list posted, but I was thinking about doing my own kind of game. Same principal for the most part, however I would probably just post them to my Livejournal. I’ll have to have a think about that one.

Thank you Indexed for this lovely diagram. I’m a vegetarian, loud and proud. I also happen to enjoy this imagery.
Oh, and don’t worry: I’m too cool for direct-linking images.

I love PostSecret. Why? Because it is amazing, of course. If you are unfamiliar, please direct your browser to http://postsecret.blogspot.com. It is “an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard.”
This one was my favourite from the Sunday just gone:

If that’s not as good as gold, then I don’t know what is.

I really hate it when I have a million tabs open in Firfox and then someone’s stupid fucked-up Myspace profile goes and crashes the whole thing and claiming that Firefox has ‘encountered an error and has to close.’
FUCK YOU, MYSPACE.

I worked my last day at the café today. It was only a five-hour shift — I got to leave an hour early because it was pretty quiet. I think I managed to do just about as little work possible today and it was great! Just… in a not-so-great way because I had to stand the whole time. Following this five-hour session of standing and occasionally doing something I’m being paid for, I decided I would do a spot of shopping. You know, spending my pay cheque as soon as I finish the shift I’ll be paid for. Yeah, I seem to work like that.
I bought a pair of shorts and a nice top for my (new) work, and a further two pair or shorts that happen to be significantly shorter, therefore rendering themselves NSFW. If you are unaware of this acronym (Not Safe For Work) then you really must browse around the internet some more.
The real point in this is that standing for extended periods of time will make your feet swollen, probably in spite of all those calories burnt from walking around all day. Damn you, universe. I’m also aware that it’s not the universe’s fault and more-so my own, but nobody likes taking the blame for things. Not normal people, anyway.
